Combability

Conditional Fit: The transmission fits, but requires using a Gen 1 flat style torque converter from BMW / Dodge.

Note:  Jaguar 306DT require a dedicated adapter for the flexplate. These components are currently in production and are expected to be available in mid-September.

Do I need to cut my original ZF 8HP bellhousing? Yes. The original bellhousing must be removed before installing the HPR Superior Bellhousing. Every kit includes a detailed installation guide and step-by-step video tutorial to walk you through the entire process.

Is welding required? No. The installation does not require any welding.

Does the kit include everything needed for installation? Yes. Every HPR Superior Bellhousing Kit includes all required hardware, along with any application-specific components such as flexplate adapters or converter pilots where required.

Which ZF 8HP transmissions are compatible? This kit is compatible with a range of BMW, Dodge, and Jaguar ZF 8HP transmissions. Please refer to the Compatibility section above or contact us if you're unsure which transmission you have.

Is the bellhousing supplied ready to install? Yes. The HPR Superior Bellhousing comes with the genuine ZF roller bearing, retaining lock ring, and front input shaft oil seal already installed.

Can I install this kit myself? If you have experience working on transmissions and follow the installation guide and video carefully, the installation can be completed in your own workshop. Professional installation is recommended if you are unfamiliar with transmission work.
